Re: Software Manager won't start - LinuxMint 17.2 (rafaela) Post by deimos » Wed Sep 02, 2015 3:52 am Thanks, Karl. I got that issue resolved in a bit different way. I simply removed the file, as well as all the content of the /var/lib/apt/lists/ with the command sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf Right after that i run apt-get update and and the error stopped appearing. >> This didn't work EITHER!!!??? +---+ synaptic window : Could not download all repository indexes The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted because of network problems. Oops...lost me there. How do I clean or mod my sources.list. I know hoe to edit text files, but don't know what to do when I get to the file. I opened my sources.list and it's blank. I have a folder sources.list.d and it has 8 text files, four unique, with each of those having the same filename but with an appended .save. For example, ubuntu.list and ubuntu.list.save. The four are: local-repository.list; medibuntu.list; mint.list; and ubuntu.list. Short of posting the namesw in each of those, does that help in any way? Thanks!
