Howell: extract of my comments for the Magical Egypt symbolist tour video series
Below, I've extracted my comments from my webPage West 2001 Magical Egypt- a symbolist tour, Howell notes. This provides an easy-to-see collection for any reader, that doesn't [increase, distract from] the main webPage.
22May2025 as can be seen, I have yet to prepare comments for many of the DVD's chapters.
I have provided selected point notes below, which are hugely [incomplete, erroneous, biased]. I am very weak in the areas of [magic, mystery, etc]. My comments are clearly indicated by " ". Hopefully these will not [de, dis]-tract the reader from the real messages of John Anthony West and his contributors. A separate webPage shows a full collection of my comments for this video series.

DVD1: the invisible science
1. Anthony West: the mystery schools
- I had read a small amount about some of the "crazy things" that Newton was into.
2. Schwaller de Lubicz: at Luxor found the key to all of the temples
- that RA West engaged Robert Schoch to date the Sphinx was a big surprise to me, even though I had already viewed the Magical Egypt series several times! I met Schoch at an Electric Universe (Thunderbolts) conference in ?2012-2014 or something?, and subsequently read two of his books (listed below). But I hadn't remembered RA West as the one who engaged Schoch.
- My father, Neil Howell, was well aware of this. He did a series of paintings about the "Legend of the ?Quenishe?" of the Comox tribe on Vancouver Island. Which was in the Courtenay museum for several decades (?), until ~2010.
3. sacred geometry- fractals
4. Michael Schneider: fractals are basic to nature, provide balance with growth
- I haven't read this, but have long kept an eye on the mathematics of fractals.
- William Charles Lucas developed the only theory of fundamental theoretical physics that I am aware of from which [fractal, spiral (chirality)]s are emergent. Lucas constantly discussed [biology, the universe, all physics, religion]. See my [unfinished, poorly documented, fun] project to re-derive Lucas's Universal Force" equations (I should make a webpage for this).
- Charles William Lucas 2013 "The universal force : Volume 1 - Derived from a more perfect union of the axiomatic and empirical scientific methods" www.commonsensescience.org ISBN-13: 978-1482328943, ISBN-10: 1482328941"
- from the DVD, although Fibonacci progressions are show around the Karnac temple, they don't seem to relate well to the layout?
- RA West never explains the difference between [harmonic, Fibonacci] series. Perhaps they are the same, at leads in his understanding?
- Steven Puetzs's "Univeral Wave Series" has remarkable similarities to the Fibonacci series, although there are important differences.

5. Thomas Brophy: Origin Map (Orion or ?) Nubian desert megaglitic arrangement
- Notice that RA West, Robert Schoch] may have been an [inspiration, drover] for Brophy's analysis of Nabla Playa, jsut as inspiration was key at several points in the Magical Egypt DVDs?
6. the house of life
7. Anthony West: Luxor's 4D architecture: evolving over centuries?
+-----+
DVD2: the old kingdom, and the still older kingdom
1. the Old Kingdom
2. Cairo museum
3. Robert Schoch: how old is the Sphinx?
- As I am familiar with Robert Schocks works, I have skimped on a descrion of his work in this sub-chapter. (Bad excuse for being lazy. Perhaps later...).
4. the Red pyramid
5. the Valley temple: [huge, simple] blocks, only similar structure is Oserion
6. Oserion temple: [long predates, physically close to] Sphinx
- no rain <=10ky BC puts it at the sudden end of the last ice age, a time of the "Great North American mammalian extinction event". That context is rasied by RA West elsewhere in the MagicalEgypt DVD seeries.
- Steven Wickson did a stunning analysis of a 900yr [climate, history] cycle, which really brings out the side-theme of catastrophism (to me anyways).
?Bovo? and Hancock chose this 10ky BC as the date of the Sphinx. (
- is this Graham Hancock? perhaps not)

DVD3 Descent
- Is it possible that the start marked an immigration from something like the "lost civilisation at Atlantis"? That may fit with
- A popular concept is that aliens drove this. For example comments about spaceships in Egytian rock reliefs, legends of gods from "the heavens" (common with many ancient societies?) ?Erik von Daniken? "Chariots of the Gods" was a popular author who emphasised this theme.
- secrecy- perhaps an essential theme to divert attention, knowledge] that the [pharoah, theocracy, etc] were just human, thereby justifying a strict class structure. How well would even democracies work for the elite if they knew more than even present-day media revels about leadership? mid-1800's Russian [Nihil, Bolshev]ism may have arisen through a combination of this kind of knowledge, coupled with [dysfunction, decline, disaster]?
- catastrophism was also mentioned in this Magical Egypt DVD series.
1. Thomas Brophy: Nabla Playa origin Map (Orion or ?) Nubian desert megaglitic arrangement
5. Thomas Brophy: Origin Map (Orion or ?) Nubian desert megaglitic arrangement
- speakers also mention equinoxes, go on to millenial basis.. but are not clear about [precession, obliquity, eccentricity].
- by map shown, Nabta Playa is WSW of Luxor, way South of Cairo.
2. Robert Dunlap
3. Catastrophe
- To me, Anthony Peratt: Auroral phenomena and petroglyphs is one of the all-time best scientists for describing very ancient-to-modern times mega-catastrophes as reflected in petroglyphs, and tied solidly to advanced plasma science.
- Ben Davidson, Earth Catastrophe Cycle | 2020 < beyond has a fascinating series of videos and work (in paricular a solid paper on earthquake prediction) tied not only to solar phenomena, but to Milky Way galaxy current sheets. His webSite Suspicious Observers also covers other fascinating science issue. He is a lawyer by training, and reminiscent of judge Fermat's last theorem and several other lawyers with brilliant break-through science thinking. These lawyers often had a better eye to science than essentially all scientists, in my opinion (like with Climate).
- Robert Schoch, a key figure in the JA West's Magical Egypt, has leaned in recent years towards accepting electro-magnetic solar outbursts as a possible driver of recurrent catastrophes.
- Valentina Zharkova "Solar magnetic field, solar radiation and their impact on terrestrial temperature" Milankovic-like ephemeris modelling of [past, present, future] climate, very interesting new solar analysis method. She has put out a large number of great [paper, presentation, book]s. The link is to Tom Nelson Pod #278. In 2025, she has suggested that the Earth is already moving into it's next "Grand Solar Minimum" (mini ice age), but longer term resumption of warming will contine until 700 years from now, based on her solar models. She points out that anthropogenioc CO2 has nothing much to do with climate, in spite of the religious fervor of essentially all scientists since the mid-to-late 1980s.
- Ivanka Charvatova- Solar inertial motion & activity: I've been a big fan of Charvatova since before 2008. She reminds me of Theodore Landscheit of Acadia University in New Brunswick, Canada, a bit before her time with some overlap. It's fun to see that Zharkova often cited Charvatova in her [paper, presentation]s, and built on her work to some extent. She was also the basis of my "rise & fall of civilisations" project (bullet point below). Another fun paper was her application of historical movement of Earth's geomagnetic fields to the orientation of Chinese pyramids (earth mounds like Emporer ?Chin's with the teracotta warriors).
- Andrew Hall: electro-geology video series has beautiful [engineering description]s of how electro-magtnetic phenomena may have played a critical role in forming impressive geological features.
- Sacha Dobler's 2016 "Solar history" book is the best description of solar influence over the great lines of history over the last 1000 years or so. He also speculates on changes in [human, species] behaviour in anticipation of the Grand Solar Minima (GSMs).
- David Fischer: Who would have thought that a book about commodity pricing back until King Hammurabi ?1,500 BC? would be one of the scariest to read? But along with the dark information was even greater bouts of [light, inspiration. He has the best description of the [Enlightenment, Rennaissance] periods that I've run across. He built on the work of Wilhelm Able of Germany in the 1930's, who is considered a pioneer in the arre of historical pricing and what it can tell us.
- One of many of my own projects Howell - Mega-Life, Mega-Death and the Sun, the rise and fall of civilisations did a [history, astronomy, Earth sciences] look at the rise and fall of civilisations (big image: ).
4. Walter Cruttendon: The Yugas
5. Climbing out of the Dark Ages
+-----+
DVD4: The Temple [of, is] Man
1. The temple is the teach[er, ing]
- was it Lubicz who named Luxor temple the "Temple of Man?
2. R.A. Schwaller de Lubicz - the key to understanding
3. Inside the Luxar temple
4. Valley temple?: pre-Sphinx unique [layout, construction], rounded joints and oral resonance
5. The seed
6. Third eye

DVD5: Navigating the after-life! What to do in the Duat.
1. Introduction
- 21May2025 Aren't there thousands of ancient Egyptian gods? But only a few are typically mentionned, the others I barely hear about. This may have more to do with "fashion intellectuallism" because we all do a poor job of remembering things that are not priorities, and marketing of ideas best exploits the well-known [what, whom]-evers?
2. Valley of the Kings
- the symbol ?Alink? resembes sperm ?utoupi? (difficult to make out sound clearly)
3. Tomb of Tutmosis III
4. Mummification
5. the Pineal Gateway
6. Lucid dreaming
7. the Materia Prima
+-----+
DVD6: Legacy
1. the knowledge is alive
- ?Dogon? people of Africa knew a weird amount about Sirius?
- besides Sirius. Orion? appears in several chapters of Magical Egypt
2. the materia prima
3. cyclical fertility
4. stellar resonance
5. the stone
6. vessel across the dust
7. the cradle of magic
8. a legacy of initiation
9. solve et coagulate
overall [impression, question]s
- overall [impression, question]s
- This is a [beautiful, thought-provoking] DVD series. In my case it fit very well with
- I keep getting dragged into mythology, even by myself. But I am not knowledgeable, and
- For me, there is too much play of the [secret, hidden]*[auth, view, believ]er
- most of the [data, concept, conclusion, direction]s have been [raise, address]ed for ages.
