Conference Guides for [IEEE-CIS, INNS] conferences : Although this guide was initially set up for IJCNN2019, and was used for IEEE WCCI 2020, hopefully some of the basic information may still help [organising committee members, authors] up to 2023-2025 (assuming a half-life of links and process information of 3-5 years?). The Authors' and Publications menus have been combined, allowing authors to see the Publications Chair perspective as well. I am no longer keeping this up to date. Bill Howell, 11Dec2020

Introduction :

The conference website is critical to Publicity in terms of being a source of : The Publicity Committee can also assist the conference webmasters by notifying them of [gaps, errors] on the web-pages.

I will not complete this web-page, other than mentionning below that it helped a great deal when Giaccomo Borracchi provided Google Analytics for IJCNN2015 Killarney conference website (see below).

Giaccomo Borracchi's Google Analytics

I didn't find the best illustrations, where Giaccomo provided timelines of website hits, which we could compare to the mass emails, social media postings. That was extremely valuable for tracking the impact of publicity, but it's the only time I've seen that when I have been involved in publicity. The image below isn't as useful as later analytics, for which the relationship between [mass emails, social media postings] and website visits was huge.

At the time I had no idea of how much this costs if you don't already have the analytics service. However, for IJCNN2019 I used it to track usage of the "Authors' Guide", and it is avaialble for free. The results in that case confirmed my suspicions that even if a few scientists (<<200) might have benefitted from the site, its value wasn't for the scientists - it was to hlep me understand my job as Publications Chair until I resigned, but still put in enormous time to assist my replacement until well after the end of the conference.
