However, after boot-up, this is the normal operational state of an device. no device: There is no device connected. To issue a single command without entering a remote shell, use the shell command like this: adb [-d |-e | -s serial_number] shell shell_command Or enter a remote shell on a device like this: adb [-d | -e | -s serial_number] shell When you are ready to exit the remote shell, press Control + D or type exit. The shell command binaries are stored in the file system of the device at /system/bin/. +---+ Send commands to a specific device If multiple devices are running, you must specify the target device when you issue the adb command. To specify the target, use the devices command to get the serial number of the target. Once you have the serial number, use the -s option with the adb commands to specify the serial number. If you're going to issue a lot of adb commands, you can set the $ANDROID_SERIAL environment variable to contain the serial number instead. If you use both -s and $ANDROID_SERIAL, -s overrides $ANDROID_SERIAL. In the following example, the list of attached devices is obtained, and then the serial number of one of the devices is used to install the helloWorld.apk on that device. $ adb devices List of devices attached emulator-5554 device emulator-5555 device $ adb -s emulator-5555 install helloWorld.apk Note: If you issue a command without specifying a target device when multiple devices are available, adb generates an error. If you have multiple devices available, but only one is an emulator, use the -e option to send commands to the emulator. While "plain Vanilla Android" has them in /data/data/android.providers.contacts/databases, the stock ROM on my Motorola Milestone 2 e.g. uses /data/data/com.motorola.blur.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db instead. A raw mask to check for is /data/data/*.providers.contacts/databases/*.db. The file is in SQLite3 format, and can be browsed on your PC with e.g. SQLiteman or DB Browser for SQLite, which is available for Linux, Mac, and Windows alike. With this application you can browse the database in a graphical mode. Of course you also can use the command line sqlite3 client if you prefer. Crucial point to directly access this database is that your device must be rooted -- a precondition you already meet, as your question states. So you can either use a file manager to navigate to the database file, and copy it to your computer for investigation -- or directly pull it to your computer via adb pull. A third option would be to investigate it directly on your device, e.g. using the SQLite Manager or aSQLiteManager app. edited Sep 16 '16 at 6:37, answered Mar 14 '13 at 1:06, Izzy, 74.5k45230717 ... can't copy blog items ... +-----+ https://www.techrepublic.com/blog/smartphones/how-to-manage-the-contacts-on-your-android-phone/ +-----+ https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792135 hazard99, 26th September 2010, 02:19 PM |#2 , Senior Member Thanks: 78 log into your gmail and extract them that way itsme_4ucz, 27th September 2010, 08:32 AM |#4, Inactive Recognized Developer, Thanks: 506 The contacts are stored in a SQLite3 database file so the file format is ".db" The development tool Android Debug Bridge (ADB) can be used to extract the file from an EMULATOR ADB can also extract the file from a phone but it must be rooted first AND the ADB drivers must be installed on your machibe as well (Rooting is NOT for beginners though) The contacts.db file is stored in the protected system memory, the file path is: data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts.db +-----+ https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/easiest-way-send-adb-commands-your-android-device-0161448/ Android Debug Bridge (adb) is a versatile tool that lets you manage the state of an emulator instance or Android-powered device. >> I used LMDE2 Software Manager -> Android Debug Bridge -> Android-tools-adb -> download It is a client-server program that includes three components: A client, which runs on your development machine. After this you should be able to set the time delay using the following instructions: On your phone, dial *#61# and click Send. Some information should be displayed: number that the calls are being forwarded to and the delay before the forwarding engages (note: on some phones, like Sony Ericsson the delay is not reported). Write down the number (including +1) Dial **61*+1xxxyyyzzzz*11*30# and hit Send. +1xxxyyyzzzz is the number you wrote down previously, 30 is the delay in seconds. The delay can be set in 5 second increments, 30 is maximum Dial *#61# to verify that the new settings are active (note: if your phone doesn't display the delay, you will have to place a test call to it instead from a different phone). ///Edit: If the instructions above don't resolve your issue or for any account specific help, please send a private message to ATTMobilityCare by clicking here. Click on the Gmail drop down list on the upper right corner and select Contacts to proceed. 4. From drop down list of More on the menu bar, choose Export -> All contacts-> Google CSV format and save the file on your computer. 5. Move the downloaded CSV file to the root folder of HTC One M8. It is a client-server program that includes three components: · A client, which sends commands. The client runs on your development machine. You can invoke a client from a shell by issuing an adb command. Other Android tools such as DDMS also create adb clients. · A daemon, which runs commands on a device. The daemon runs as a background process on each emulator or device instance. · A server, which manages communication between the client and the daemon. The server runs as a background process on your development machine. If there's only one emulator running or only one device connected, the adb command is sent to that device by default. If multiple emulators are running and/or multiple devices are attached, you need to use the -d, -e, or -s option to specify the target device to which the command should be directed. OPTIONS -a Directs adb to listen on all interfaces for a connection. -d Directs command to the only connected USB device. Returns an error if more than one USB device is present. -e Directs command to the only running emulator. Returns an error if more than one emulator is run‐ ning. -s specific device Directs command to the device or emulator with the given serial number or qualifier. Overrides AN‐ DROID_SERIAL environment variable. -p product name or path Simple product name like sooner, or a relative/absolute path to a product out directory like out/target/product/sooner. If -p is not specified, the ANDROID_PRODUCT_OUT environment variable is used, which must be an absolute path. -H Name of adb server host (default: localhost) -P Port of adb server (default: 5037) COMMANDS adb devices [-l] List all connected devices. -l will also list device qualifiers. adb connect host[:port] Connect to a device via TCP/IP. Port 5555 is used by default if no port number is specified. adb disconnect [host[:port]] Disconnect from a TCP/IP device. Port 5555 is used by default if no port number is specified. Us‐ ing this command with no additional arguments will disconnect from all connected TCP/IP devices. +-----+ adb backup [-f file] [-apk|-noapk] [-obb|-noobb] [-shared|-noshared] [-all] [-system|-nosystem] [pack‐ ages...] Write an archive of the device's data to file. If no -f option is supplied then the data is written to backup.ab in the current directory. -apk | -noapk enable/disable backup of the .apks themselves in the archive; the default is noapk. -obb | -noobb enable/disable backup of any installed apk expansion (aka .obb) files associated with each application; the default is noobb. -shared | -noshared enable/disable backup of the device's shared storage / SD card contents; the default is noshared. -all means to back up all installed applications. -system | -nosystem toggles whether -all automatically includes system applications; the default is to in‐ clude system apps. packages... is the list of applications to be backed up. If the -all or -shared flags are passed, then the package list is optional. Applications explicitly given on the command line will be included even if -nosystem would ordinarily cause them to be omitted. ***************** #] 21Nov2017 How to block phone calls on Android – Samsung Galaxy S4: https://wccftech.com/block-phone-calls-on-android/ How to block phone calls on Android – Samsung Galaxy S4: Samsung Galaxy S4 has a Reject List feature that will help you block the unwanted numbers on your phone.
