  1. A panel session dedicated to the "Celebration of 20 Years of Neural Networks". Panelists include neural networks pioneers, inaugural and sitting presidents, inaugural and sitting Editor-in-Chiefs of the key Neural Networks journals. Come join me for this special occasion on August 13 at 10am.
  2. A special exhibit on the "20 Years of Neural Networks" will be on display at prominent locations at the conference. We will show you the history and our current strong standing as a community through pictures and posters.
  3. A post-conference workshop on "Neural Nets: The Next 20 Years - Choices and Challenges" will be held on August 17 at 7pm.
  4. A special "Women-in-Computational Intelligence" luncheon/meeting will be held on August 17th at 12 noon.
Post-Conference Workshops
  1. The NN3 competition on “Forecasting 11 or 111 time series with neural networks” ( www.neural-forecasting-competition.com) at IJCNN'07 attracted over 50 submissions from the computational intelligence and statistics communities. The post conference workshop on Thursday & Friday will showcase 10 formal presentations and 15+ poster presentations on the progress in forecasting with computational intelligence. Please contact the organizers if you are interested in joining the NN3 forecasting workshop sessions & social activities (send email to: sven.crone@neural-forecasting.com).
  2. The organizers of the Workshop on "Brain-Machine Interfaces" welcome active participation of conference attendees. The list of topics to be discussed includes:
    • Control feature extraction from spikes, LFPs, ECoG, and EEG Data compression and representation of neural activity
    • Optimization of input-output models for mapping neural activity to behavior
    • Computing with spikes
    • Strategies for dealing with nonstationarities in real BMI applications
    • Techniques to analyze the spatio-temporal processes that activate behavior

  4. The submission deadline for the "Agnostic Learning vs. Prior Knowledge Competition and Data Representation Discovery" workshop has been extended to August 1st.
