Coriolis forces, cyclonic rotation, and "Electrical winds" I certainly wouldn't throw out the conventional coriolis explanation, but was interested to see that you weren't particularly forceful about the possibility of normal weather lows and highs as also being influenced by "electric motor-like rotation" (or more simply as Birkeland-like rotation asssisted by very low ionosation levels that aren't quite at the plasma stage). I'll keep the latter on the backburner. Your charge- buildup explanation for lows & highs is well taken.… Bill Howell 18/08/13 to: Bob Johnson. I'm going to try and get a reaction from Rob Johnson of the Electric Universe group (www.thunderbolts.info). From what I've just heard, the EU and NPA conferences will both occur at the same time and in Albuquerque next Mar2014. If ever you are comfortable with the idea of taking 4 days or so and giving a presentation, let me know. Bill Lucas usually presents his recent work on the "Universal Electrodynamic Force" at the annual NPA conference, and that was what I was hoping to look at with respect to calculating electrical forces via Birkeland currents (possibly almost zero-dimensional with distance, although probably not, but I suspect that much less than second order is somewhat likely).… Bill Howell 12/05/13 to: Lloyd Kinder. I posted on my website a few zany relation of the latter - including Paul Anderson's "Electric scarring of the Earth's surface", and ancient calendars definitely in the cross-hairs. This is a hge amount of work... that might actually pop out of data-based approaches in a much more solid and reliable manner. * Steven Yaskell's "Grand phases on the sun" - In Sep2012 I reviewed this book for the athors, providing a variety of comments. While the main core of the book centers around the de Jager-Duhau model of the sun (torroidal-poloidal currents), Yaskell did make historical comments beyond the Maunder minimum, and he uses an historical chart from my father and myself (along with a lot of other material, of course). * 1,500 year quasi-cycle and Velikovskian events - History's "big killers" might somehow relate (if loosely) to the ?Dansgaard-Oesberg? Your type of analysis on that timescale would be interesting, albeit the data may not be there. * Integration of Huang Guangbin's "Exteme Learning Machine" (neural network, also Echo State recurrent nets) with other approaches (wavelets would be nice - but I'm a neophyte there) * Gerald Pollack's EZ water - Periodically over the last 1.7 years, I've been mesmerized by this theme (mostly from a biological perspective), and feel it is in the climate somewhere, but probably well-accommodated by conventional analysis - but perhaps far from fully.… Bill Howell 19/02/13 to: Paul Vaughan. Simon Fraser U. BC. Canada Fwd: cheefio: civilisations, climate It's not that I think I've found the "true" chronology. But I do have "alternate" chronologies that have good arguments behind them, and it's the diversity of thinking that is valuable, not the presumed truth. By the way - it's slow slugging through the plasma physics for "Birkeland current end effects (torsion, tension, surface shear)". Hopefully by the end of September I'll simply send some half-baked ideas to a few lunatic fringe physicists who are familiar with the area, and who may already have figured this out (but first I need to get my hands dirty to have any idea at all of what is going on). Australia Hello from Australia, Bill Bob Carter, Townville U, Queensland? - He came in ~ May or June this year, right afte the internatonal climate conference hosted by the Heartland Insttute if I remember correctly. (I won't wpnd big $ on climate conferences - I will only do that for neural networks, or if that is too expensive, NPA or Eelctric Universe). Other Australians of BIG relevance to fundamental physics and astronomy Wallace Thornhill - I'm trying to work out modifications of planetary motion models using Electric Universe concepts (this could take me forever). UK LOD - variable basis; Paper publication - Johnson model of sap & blood flow; The first neural spike in a train LOD - variable basis I agree with your comments about variability. My assumption is that the orbital is NOT constant over time - nor are the proxy measures of time themselves (atomic clocks, carbon 14, berylium 10, tree rings, marine sedimentary deposits, ice layers, anything). The trick is, what do we have to "grab onto" initially? One assumption or guess is that we would have to know the state of the solar system Birkeland currents and a pile of things like that over time. We don't even have a good measure of the current state, nor can we say we have experience in predicting/ back-casting it. Paper publication - Johnson model of sap & blood flow Yiu've certainly done more of this than I. The key thing is that I'm not sure if proceedings for EU 2012 will be published, as they were for NPA 18. If the EUis NOT publishing (other than the video) it is something to suggest, as with time the publications count for people, and make conferences more "concrete". A first step, which I assume you have already done, is to post your current thinking, in the form of your presentation and perhaps a supplemental paper and comments, on:… Howell, Bill 29/11/11 to: Clapham, Michael FW: "Martian blueberries..." One curious phenomena that I heard within the last 1.5 years is that if a "thunderbolt" (discharge) hits a permanent magnet, it's polarity reverses. Although I've read/heard it a few times, I haven't tried to check its validity. That may have important potential implications for some geomagnetics and solar processes. A key piece of information that I saw during a presentation at the "Natural Philosophy Alliance" (NPA) conference 05-08Jul11 at the Uof Maryland (this was my vacation time and after-tax pocket money!), was the location of what may be the two main branches of a major Birkeland current involving our sun. My hope is that dimensional analysis may yield plausible dynamics and forces from a hypothetical Birkeland current, that might possibly match up with solar system observations. I don't have much time at home for this particular subject, so it might take a year or two (or forever) to get to it... I also got a DVD with the Martian video that was posted in two parts on YouTube or whatever (see the link in my earlier emails below). Although you've pretty well switch to Sun-Moon-Earth, I'm still interested in the "not-so-well-liked" planetary-type results you had done a year or two ago, as an alternate/complimentary data association/correlation. There is reason enough now for me to suspect that the other planets are NOT necessarily too far to influence Earth, or perhaps "phase sync" with the Sun-Moon-Earth systems & phasing. That conventional scientists "know" this to be impossible doesn't impress me at all. They can live within their 1/r^2 misconception (eg ignoring Birkeland currents and other observations). As usual, nice work, and you handle yourself with class under fire.
