Résumés....
Here is my last annual report on Continuing Professional Development to the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), of which I am no loger a member (retired - and I spend my money on membership in the IEEE-CIS and INNS, which are quite expensive as I continue attending conferences. :
2012 in Ottawa, Work Force Adjustment situation in federal government :
Until recently, I was a Science Research Manager at the Mining and Mineral Sciences Laboratories of
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) in Ottawa : My responsibility was to manage and build a new Recycling R&D program, and to find cost recovery funding for it.
With the 2012 federal government budget cutbacks, recycle efforts in our sector (policy and science) were cut,
and all employees in the science program were put on "affected" status, including myself.
Old posting - 2007 when I was in Calgary:
Science Research Manager at the Mining and Mineral Sciences Laboratories of Natural Resources Canada
(NRCan) in Ottawa. My major responsibility has been to build consortia and find
external funding for large (1 to 5 M$) R&D initiatives for underground mining. Experienced in
corporate and government business development, market research, management and execution of
scientific & engineering R&D and projects, and plant operations. Senior scientific engineer.
