Come and join us for the 30th anniversary of IJCNN, the premier international conference in the area of neural network theory, analysis, and applications. Co-sponsored by the International Neural Network Society (INNS) and the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (IEEE-CIS), over the last three decades this conference and its predecessors have hosted [past, present, and future] leaders of neural network research. IJCNN 2017 will feature invited plenary talks by world-renowned speakers in the areas of neural network theory and applications, computational neuroscience, robotics, and distributed intelligence.

Call for Papers - While a short list of IJCNN topics is provided below, authors should click on our Call for Papers link for a much more detailed list of the topics, and a link to guidelines for paper submissions.

Call for Special Sessions - The IJCNN 2017 Program Committee solicits proposals for special sessions within the technical scopes of the conference. Special sessions, to be organized by internationally recognized experts, aim to bring together researchers focused in special, novel, challenging, and emerging topics. Fast-developing themes such as Deep Learning, Big Data, or applications to fields like chemistry, biology, brain research computer games, robotics, etc. are examples.

Papers submitted for special sessions are to be peer-reviewed with the same criteria used for the regular sessions. Researchers interested in organizing special sessions are invited to submit a formal proposal using the Special Session proposal form. Call for Competitions - Competitions have long been a valuable component of IJCNN, and have been extremely important over time in identifying breakthroughs (as has been the case with Deep Learning since 2008). Instructions for submissions are on the competitions web-page. For further questions, contact Chair Juyang (John) Weng, Michigan State University, USA to set up a competition for IJCNN 2017.

Call for Panel Sessions - Panel sessions provide forums for lively, interactive discussions among world-leading experts in specific areas. Panel Session proposals are solicited in a broad range of areas related to NNs, including but not limited to the following: hot topics and challenges in NNS, such as Deep learning, Big Data, Brain-Computer Interfaces, new generation of AI; history of NNs, with special emphasis on the upcoming 30th birthday of INNS; government funding opportunities; outreach to industry and to sister societies, and many more. 	Stephen Grossberg - Wang Professor of Cognitive & Neural Systems, Boston University. Stephen is a Founding President of INNS, Founding Editor-In-Chief, Neural Networks journal, Founder & General Chairman ICCNS conference, 1997-2013. Recipient of the INNS Helmholtz award, IEEE CIS Neural Networks Pioneer award, and the 2017 IEEE Rosenblatt award.
	Odest Chadwicke Jenkins - Associate Professor and leader of the Laboratory for Progress at the University of Michigan, Sloan Research Fellow, recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the Young Investigator awards from the Office of Naval Research and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research one.
	Christof Koch - Head of the K-Lab and Professor of Biology and Engineering at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. President and Chief Scientific Officer of the Allen Institute for Brain Science, Seattle, USA.
	Jose Principe - BellSouth Professor, Director of the Computational NeuroEngineering Laboratory, University of Florida, USA. Jose is a Past-President of the INNS, and a recipient of the INNS Gabor award and the IEEE CIS Neural Networks Pioneer award.
	Hava Siegelmann - Lab Director, Professor of Computer Science, and Core Member of the Neuroscience and Behavior Program at University of Massachusetts at Amherst. DARPA program manager, and 2016 INNS Hebb Award recipient.
	Paul Werbos - Past-President of the INNS, recipient of the INNS Hebb award and the IEEE CIS Neural Networks Pioneer award. He served as program director in the National Science Foundation for several years.
