Reasons Why Geomagnetic Field Generation is Physically Impossible in Earth’s Fluid Core J. Marvin Herndon, Ph.D. Transdyne Corporation San Diego, California, USA ABSTRACT Despite the importance for understanding the nature of the geomagnetic field, and especially its potential for radically disrupting modern civilization [1], virtually all scientific publications relating to it are based upon the false assumption that the geomagnetic field is generated in the Earth’s fluid core. By adhering to an outmoded paradigm, members of the geoscience community have potentially exposed humanity to globally devastating risks, leaving it unprepared for an inevitable geomagnetic field collapse. There is no scientific reason to believe that the geomagnetic field is generated within the fluid core. Convection is physically impossible in the fluid core due to its compression by the weight above and its inability to sustain an adverse temperature gradient. There is no evidence of ongoing inner core growth to provide energy to drive thermal convection or to cause compositional convection. Moreover, there is no mechanism to account for magnetic reversals and no means for magnetic seed-field production within the fluid core to initiate dynamo amplification. Earth’s nuclear georeactor, seat of the geomagnetic field, has none of the problems inherent in putative fluid-core geomagnetic field production. With a mass of about one ten-millionth that of the fluid core, georeactor sub-shell convection can potentially be disrupted by great planetary trauma, such as an asteroid impact, or by major solar outbursts or even by human activities, for example, by deliberate electromagnetic disturbance of the near-Earth environment, including the Van Allen belts. Furthermore, sub-shell convection disruption might trigger surface geophysical disasters, such as super- volcano eruptions [2-4]. Scientists have a fundamental responsibility to tell the truth and to provide scientific understanding that benefits humanity. +--+ #] 17May2021 6000 Year Half-Cycle Event, Space Weather, Climate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74hG_uMSYSk 6000 Year Half-Cycle Event, Space Weather, Climate | S0 News May.17.2021 61,612 views May 17, 2021 6,000 Noah's event Great flood 12,000 Gothenburg H0 18,000 Hilina Pali H1 24,000 Lake Mungo H2 30,000 (Un-named) H3 36,000 Mono Lake H4 +--+ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXeHYPZf-6E More CMEs Erupt, Super-Flare Confirmations, Earth Rotation Glitches | S0 News Apr.27.2021 53,025 views Apr 27, 2021 02:05 Model-based reproduction and validation of the the spectra of a solar e and their impact on the global environment at the X9.3 event of 06Sep2017 >> cool- relates to 03Jul2021 X-flare? https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/1538-4365/abda3c/meta Superflares, Chromospheric Activities, and Photometric Variabilities of Solar-type Stars from the Second-year Observation of TESS and Spectra of LAMOST Zuo-Lin Tu1, Ming Yang1,2, H.-F. The Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series, Volume 253, Number 2 Citation Zuo-Lin Tu et al 2021 ApJS 253 35 Abstract - In this work, 1272 superflares on 311 stars are collected from 22,539 solar-type stars from the second-year observation of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), which almost covered the northern hemisphere of the sky. Three superflare stars contain hot Jupiter candidates or ultrashort-period planet candidates. We obtain γ = −1.76 ± 0.11 of the correlation between flare frequency and flare energy (${dN}/{dE}\propto {E}^{-\gamma }$) for all superflares and get β = 0.42 ± 0.01 of the correlation between superflare duration and energy (Tduration ∝ Eβ), which supports that a similar mechanism is shared by stellar superflares and solar flares. Stellar photometric variability (Rvar) is estimated for all solar-type stars, and the relation of $E\propto {R}_{\mathrm{var}}^{3/2}$ is included. An indicator of chromospheric activity (S-index) is obtained by using data from the Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope (LAMOST) for 7454 solar-type stars. Distributions of these two properties indicate that the Sun is generally less active than superflare stars. We find that saturation-like feature of Rvar ~ 0.1 may be the reason for superflare energy saturating around 1036 erg. Object TIC 93277807 was captured by the TESS first-year mission and generated the most energetic superflare. This superflare is valuable and unique in that it can be treated as an extreme event, which may be generated by different mechanisms than other superflares. https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/1538-4357/abc8f5 Statistical Properties of Superflares on Solar-type Stars: Results Using All of the Kepler Primary Mission Data Soshi Okamoto1, Yuta Notsu8,2,3, Hiroyuki Maehara4,5, Kosuke Namekata9,1, Satoshi Honda6, Kai Ikuta1, Daisaku Nogami1, and Kazunari Shibata7 Published 2021 January 11 • © 2021. The Astrophysical Journal, Volume 906, Number 2 Citation Soshi Okamoto et al 2021 ApJ 906 72 Abstract - We report the latest statistical analyses of superflares on solar-type (G-type main-sequence; effective temperature is 5100–6000 K) stars using all of the Kepler primary mission data and Gaia Data Release 2 catalog. We updated the flare detection method from our previous studies by using a high-pass filter to remove rotational variations caused by starspots. We also examined the sample biases on the frequency of superflares, taking into account gyrochronology and flare detection completeness. The sample sizes of solar-type and Sun-like stars (effective temperature is 5600–6000 K and rotation period is over 20 days in solar-type stars) are ~4 and ~12 times, respectively, compared with Notsu et al. As a result, we found 2341 superflares on 265 solar-type stars and 26 superflares on 15 Sun-like stars; the former increased from 527 to 2341 and the latter from three to 26 events compared with our previous study. This enabled us to have a more well-established view on the statistical properties of superflares. The observed upper limit of the flare energy decreases as the rotation period increases in solar-type stars. The frequency of superflares decreases as the stellar rotation period increases. The maximum energy we found on Sun-like stars is 4 × 1034 erg. Our analysis of Sun-like stars suggests that the Sun can cause superflares with energies of ~7 × 1033 erg (~X700-class flares) and ~1 × 1034 erg (~X1000-class flares) once every ~3000 and ~6000 yr, respectively. 08********08 #] 14Apr2021 ancent clock? We proposed three criteria (coordinates), according to which the work on solar–biospheric relations was systematized: the time scale of data sampling (years, days, hours, minutes); the level of organization of the biological system under study (population, group, individual, body system); and the degree of system response (norm, adaptation, failure of adaptation (illness), disaster (death)). This systematic review demonstrates that three parameters mentioned above are closely related in the existing heliobiological studies: the larger the selected time scale, the higher the level of estimated biological system organization and the stronger the potential response degree is. The long-term studies are devoted to the possible influence of solar activity on population disasters, i.e., significant increases in morbidity and mortality. On a daily scale, a probable effect of geomagnetic storms and other space weather events on short-term local outbreaks of morbidity is shown as well as on cases of deterioration in people functional state. On an intraday scale, in the regular functioning mode, the heart and brain rhythms of healthy people turn to be synchronized with geomagnetic field variations in some frequency ranges, which apparently is the necessary organism’s existence element. The applicability of different space weather indices at different data sampling rates, the need to take into account the contribution of meteorological factors, and the prospects for an individual approach in heliobiology are discussed. The modern important results of experiments on modeling the action of magnetic storms in laboratory conditions and the substantiation of possible theoreical mechanisms are described. These results provide an experimental and theoretical basis for studies of possible connections of space weather and human health. The past strength of Earth's dipole field provides a proxy for UVR flux because of its role in maintaining stratospheric ozone. The timing of Quaternary evolutionary events has become better constrained by fossil finds, improved radiometric dating, use of dung fungi as proxies for herbivore populations, and improved ages for nodes in human phylogeny from human mitochondrial DNA and Y chromosomes. The demise of Neanderthals at ~41 ka can now be closely tied to the intensity minimum associated with the Laschamp magnetic excursion, and the survival of anatomically modern humans can be attributed to differences in the aryl hydrocarbon receptor that has a key role in the evolutionary response to UVR flux. Fossil occurrences and dung‐fungal proxies in Australia indicate that episodes of Late Quaternary extinction of mammalian megafauna occurred close to the Laschamp and Blake magnetic excursions. Fossil and dung fungal evidence for the age of the Late Quaternary extinction in North America (and Europe) coincide with a prominent decline in geomagnetic field intensity at ~13 ka. Over the last ~200 kyr, phylogeny based on mitochondrial DNA and Y chromosomes in modern humans yields nodes and bifurcations in evolution corresponding to geomagnetic intensity minima, which supports the proposition that UVR reaching Earth's surface influenced mammalian evolution with the loci of extinction controlled by the geometry of stratospheric ozone depletion. The record shows the field nearly failed prior to its brief swap, which only lasted 500 years. Combined with an unusually quiet Sun that is believed to have occurred during this time, cosmic rays could have caused a notable drop in stratospheric ozone, shifting wind flows and climate patterns, they suggest. However, ice cores capture no record of a large climate change during this time, which came during a period already known to feature drastic climate swings related to the Atlantic Ocean. And scientists believe it is very premature to connect this event to milestones in human evolution that occurred around that time, such as the demise of the Neanderthals or increase in cave painting—though the link is worth investigating. #] Cooper etal 19Feb2021 "A global environmental crisis 42,000 years ago" Cooper etal (~30 authors) 19Feb2021 "A global environmental crisis 42,000 years ago" Science, Vol. 371, Issue 6531, pp. 811-818 DOI: 10.1126/science.abb8677 https://science.sciencemag.org/content/371/6531/811 Alan Cooper1,2,*,†, Chris S. Uncertain radiocarbon calibration has limited investigation of the potential effects of the last major magnetic inversion, known as the Laschamps Excursion [41 to 42 thousand years ago (ka)]. We use ancient New Zealand kauri trees (Agathis australis) to develop a detailed record of atmospheric radiocarbon levels across the Laschamps Excursion. We precisely characterize the geomagnetic reversal and perform global chemistry-climate modeling and detailed radiocarbon dating of paleoenvironmental records to investigate impacts. We find that geomagnetic field minima ~42 ka, in combination with Grand Solar Minima, caused substantial changes in atmospheric ozone concentration and circulation, driving synchronous global climate shifts that caused major environmental changes, extinction events, and transformations in the archaeological record. #] 6-12 ky cycles : Heinrich events, Magnetic excursions, Big volcanoes, minor extinctions https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNnMfC8hdC0 The Disaster Cycle, Sun and Ice | S0 News Jan.23.2021 50,652 views Jan 23, 2021 >> doz of scientist also suggest Sun should have 3 & 6 ky harmonics -> Nov2020 paper (adds to 1,2 ky cycles of sun) #] Le etal Mar2021 paper theory of ball lightening occuring in houses and aircraft https://suspicious0bservers.org/dl/February-4-2021/ Episode 9 – February 4 | Tesla Lightning Protection https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNl2QJM_SOQ Earth's Rotation Glitches Are Speeding Up | S0 News Jan.7.2021 72,294 views Jan 7, 2021 >> earth's [rotation (LOD), geomag] vary day-by-day 28 shortest day records in 2020 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZlivVDgwYQ THE NEXT DISASTER | Part 3 - When Will it Happen? 66,613 views Jan 2, 2021 >> from full series precursors - perhaps low latitude auroral events, increased lightening, magnetic field variations 2030s may see onset long before minimum of geomag field (2049, 12ky cycle) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbfBx6OqgGI Galactic Micronova Trigger, New Sunspots, EMF Quakes | S0 News Oct.26.2020 32,625 views Oct 26, 2020 Earth crosses sun's current sheet each 7-10days - period used in stock markets? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gxbVOLmQ-s Earth Electric | Deep Quakes, Electric-Magnetic-Kinetic 25,800 views, Jul 16, 2020 Billy Yelverton Jr. operates the plasma lab, and has contributed to our understanding of seismicity, space weather, cosmology, asteroids, and more. 23Apr2020 (covax) Millions Are Being Murdered, The Killer Cure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-2C27YLCGE Ben Davidson, SuspiciousObservers "Millions Are Being Murdered, The Killer Cure" 104,001 views, Apr 23, 2020 01May2020 Phase coherence and phase jumps in the Schwabe cycle F. This paper examines these analyses, and attempts to recreate the three most recent statistical analyses by Ertel (1994), Tapping et al. (2001), and Yeung (2006), which all have purported to find a significant relationship between sunspot numbers and pandemic influenza. As will be discussed, each analysis had errors in the data. In addition, in each analysis arbitrary selections or assumptions were also made, and the authors did not assess the robustness of their analyses to changes in those arbitrary assumptions. Varying the arbitrary assumptions to other, equally valid, assumptions negates the claims of significance. Indeed, an arbitrary selection made in one of the analyses appears to have resulted in almost maximal apparent significance; changing it only slightly yields a null result. This analysis applies statistically rigorous methodology to examine the purported sunspot/pandemic link, using more statistically powerful un-binned analysis methods, rather than relying on arbitrarily binned data. The analyses are repeated using both the Wolf and Group sunspot numbers. In all cases, no statistically significant evidence of any association was found. However, while the focus in this particular analysis was on the purported relationship of influenza pandemics to sunspot activity, the faults found in the past analyses are common pitfalls; inattention to analysis reproducibility and robustness assessment are common problems in the sciences, that are unfortunately not noted often enough in review. > Towers' analysis is garbage : - only perhaps valid for extremely narrow conditions that were probably not [instended, stated] by authors? >> completely missing most ats of solar aqctivity (probably like the original authors) - playing with 2 cards out of a deck of 50!! It is true that of these three (1918, 1957, and 1968), all in fact occurred within ±1 year of the solar cycle peaks. However, a trivial statistical analysis shows that this is not extraordinary; the Binomial 95% confidence interval for the estimated probability of observing a pandemic within ±1 year of a peak when three out of three have actually been observed is [0·29, 1·0] [14], but of all years during that time period, 16 out of 54 (30%) were within ±1 year of peak. Harsh AGN radiation makes a dust grain highly charged through photoelectric emission, and grain fission via Coulomb explosion occurs when the electrostatic tensile stress of a charge grain exceeds its tensile strength. We show that Coulomb explosion can preferentially remove both small silicate and graphite grains and successfully reproduce both flat extinction curve and the absence of 2175 Å bump. >> cool - why would charge do that? Image of the Day for March 17, 2020 One of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the world, Hasankeyf, has been home to more than 20 cultures over the past 12,000 years. Early settlers carved caves into the surrounding limestone cliffs. Romans built a fortress to monitor crop and livestock transportation. Travelers on the Silk Road often stopped in the area to trade during the Middle Ages. Remnants of past cultures have been preserved for thousands of years in Hasankeyf, which was absorbed by the Ottoman Empire in the 1500s and has remained part of Turkey ever since. But those artifacts—thousands of human-made caves and hundreds of well-preserved medieval monuments—may soon be underwater. A new dam and reservoir threatens to drown the city. Located about 56 kilometers (35 miles) downstream of Hasankeyf, the approximately 135-meter (440-foot) tall Ilisu Dam is expected to provide 1,200 megawatts of electricity (around 1.5 percent of Turkey’s total power-generating capacity). The dam is part of Turkey’s Southeastern Anatolia Project, which consists of 19 hydroelectric plants and 22 dams on the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The effort is designed to help promote economic growth and energy independence for the country. But there will also be a cost. Holding back water from the Tigris River, Ilisu Dam will create a reservoir covering 190 square kilometers (74 square miles) of land. When near capacity, the reservoir will almost completely submerge Hasankeyf and displace more than 70,000 people. Additionally, the dam will decrease water supplies to Syria and Iraq. The natural-color images above show Hasankeyf on February 22, 2019 (left) and March 12, 2020 (right). The images below show the area near Ilisu Dam (located further downstream) on the same dates. The reservoir began filling in July 2019. Abstract PURPOSE: Receiving influenza vaccination may increase the risk of other respiratory viruses, a phenomenon known as virus interference. Test-negative study designs are often utilized to calculate influenza vaccine effectiveness. The virus interference phenomenon goes against the basic assumption of the test-negative vaccine effectiveness study that vaccination does not change the risk of infection with other respiratory illness, thus potentially biasing vaccine effectiveness results in the positive direction. This study aimed to investigate virus interference by comparing respiratory virus status among Department of Defense personnel based on their influenza vaccination status. Furthermore, individual respiratory viruses and their association with influenza vaccination were examined. RESULTS: We compared vaccination status of 2880 people with non-influenza respiratory viruses to 3240 people with pan-negative results. Comparing vaccinated to non-vaccinated patients, the adjusted odds ratio for non-flu viruses was 0.97 (95% confidence interval (CI): 0.86, 1.09; p = 0.60). Additionally, the vaccination status of 3349 cases of influenza were compared to three different control groups: all controls (N = 6120), non-influenza positive controls (N = 2880), and pan-negative controls (N = 3240). The adjusted ORs for the comparisons among the three control groups did not vary much (range: 0.46-0.51). CONCLUSIONS: Receipt of influenza vaccination was not associated with virus interference among our population. Examining virus interference by specific respiratory viruses showed mixed results. Vaccine derived virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus and human metapneumovirus; however, significant protection with vaccination was associated not only with most influenza viruses, but also parainfluenza, RSV, and non-influenza virus coinfections. 08********08 #] 04Mar2020 SuspObs Major Maynard E. The finding adds to the field’s understanding of quantum physics. Jeremy Levy, a distinguished professor of condensed matter physics, and Patrick Irvin, a research associate professor, are authors of the a paper detailing the findings, published Feb. 14 in Science. The research focuses on measurements in one-dimensional conducting systems where electrons are found to travel without scattering in groups of two or more at a time, rather than individually “The discovery we made shows that when electrons can be made to attract one another, they can form bunches of two, three, four and five electrons that literally behave like new types of particles, new forms of electronic matter.” Levy compared the finding to the way in which quarks bind together to form neutrons and protons. An important clue to uncovering the new matter was recognizing that these ballistic conductors matched a sequence within Pascal’s Triangle. “If you look along different directions of Pascal’s Triangle you can see different number patterns and one of the patterns was one, three, six, 10, 15, 21. This is a sequence we noticed in our data, so it became a challenging clue as to what was actually going on. The discovery took us some time to understand but it was because we initially did not realize we were looking at particles made up of one electron, two electrons, three electrons and so forth. Simulated annealing and genetic algorithms were used to synthesize data from 11,000 marine fossil species, collected from more than 3000 stratigraphic sections, to generate a new Cambrian to Triassic biodiversity curve with an imputed temporal resolution of 26 ± 14.9 thousand years. This increased resolution clarifies the timing of known diversification and extinction events. Comparative analysis suggests that partial pressure of carbon dioxide (Pco2) is the only environmental factor that seems to display a secular pattern similar to that of biodiversity, but this similarity was not confirmed when autocorrelation within that time series was analyzed by detrending. These results demonstrate that fossil data can provide the temporal and taxonomic resolutions necessary to test (paleo)biological hypotheses at a level of detail approaching those of long-term ecological analyses. Don Scott's model of the Birkland currents has recently suggested that fields perependicular to the current fall off with 1/sqrt(r), rather than 1/r as for small defined conductors (like a copper wire). But if one considers fields along the current, assuming a lossless current (idealistic simplification), then the [field, force]s do not fall off much with distance (1/r !!?). That probably wouldn't apply with current sheets (maybe 1/r rather than 1/sqr(r)). If there are strong variations on a Birkeland current arrangements, would it be enough to provide the [sunspot, planet] correlation? I have yet to see an analysis of the [shear, principal] forces of an arc discharge (by "principal" I mean push-pull along axis of current discharge), and welders don't help much there (they clamp down pieces, but that doesn't provide me with a feeling for the forces. But that presumably wouldn't attenuate much over distance (<< 1/ sqr(r)), and could be important for the sculpting of a planet's surface (eg [craters, Paul ??'s concept of coulees]). In any case, there are far more questions than answers, and playing in the gravity-only sandbox hasn't worked before, so why stay in it? 08********08 #] 10Jan2020 SuspObs Galactic Radcliffe Wave Galactic Wave: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-019-1874-z A Galactic-scale gas wave in the solar neighborhood +-----+ 05m:38s https://sites.google.com/cfa.harvard.edu/radcliffewave/ The Radcliff Wave The Radcliffe Wave is a gigantic structure that defines the shape of the Sun's local neighborhood in the Milky Way Galaxy. In this work, we present the study of superflares on solar-type stars using TransitingExoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) data. 13 sectors of observations during the first year of theTESSmission have covered the southern hemisphere of the sky, containing 25,734 solar-type stars. Weverified 1,216 superflares on 400 solar-type stars through automatic search and visual inspection with2-minute cadence data. Our result suggests a higher superflare frequency distribution than the resultfromKepler. The reason may be that the majority ofTESSsolar-type stars in our dataset are rapidlyrotating stars. The power-law indexγof the superflare frequency distribution (dN/dE∝E−γ) isconstrained to beγ= 2.16±0.10, which is a little larger than that of solar flares but consistent withthe results fromKepler. Because only 7 superflares of Sun-like stars are detected, we may not give arobust superflare occurrence frequency. And four stars are accompanied by unconfirmed hot planetcandidates. Therefore, superflares are possibly caused by stellar magnetic activities instead of planet-star interactions. We also find an extraordinary star TIC43472154, which exhibits about 200 superflaresper year. In addition, the correlation between energy and duration of superflares (Tduration∝Eβ) isanalyzed. But can stellar [birth, ignition, extinction] progression also provide further potential evidence of an approaching period of super-activity for the Sun? What has long fascinated me is the statement that the spirals of the galaxies move more rapidly than the stars in the galaxy, and how that might relate to the [Newtonian, General Relativity] problem at large scales. The effect might even play a crucial role in the formation of the Sun’s magnetic field, say researchers from Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), the University of Leeds and the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP) in the journal Physical Review Fluids (DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevFluids.4.103905). Researchers have coined the term “Super HMRI” for this recently observed special case of magnetorotational instability (MRI). It is a magnetic mechanism that causes the rotating, electroconductive fluids and gases in a magnetic field to become unstable. What is special about this case is that the Super HMRI requires exactly the same conditions that prevail in the plasma close to the solar equator – the place where astrophysicists observe the most sunspots and, thus, the Sun’s greatest magnetic activity. So far, however, this instability in the Sun had gone completely unnoticed and is not yet integrated in models of the solar dynamo. 08********08 #] 20Oct2019 SuspObs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjEj8DdFQ1A COSMIC DISASTER | Introduction yBP Event name 60,000 Vostok 34-48K Laschamp (very big) 36,000 Mono Lake 24,000 Lake Mungo 12,000 Gothenberg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OI_HFnNTfyU Professor Eric Laithwaite: Magnetic River 1975 08********08 #] 02Oct2019 Pierre-Marie Robitaille - stars are condensed matter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0eINoQdk0I Presentation at Ohio APS - Mass Luminosity 3,444 views Apr 28, 2019 - solid metalic (hydrogen) hexagonal sheet in photosphere, body-centered cubic at core he ignores heat dissipation out of star #] 03Oct2019 my YouTube comment : Oliver Manuel, Eemeritus professor of Nuclear and Space Studies,University of Missouri, Rolla, had long proposed an iron core concept of the Sun and planets. This resonance-like effect has its rationale in the tendency of the current-driven Tayler instability to undergo intrinsic helicity oscillations which, in turn, can be synchronized by periodic tidal perturbations. Specifically, we focus on the 11.07-years alignment periodicity of the tidally dominant planets Venus, Earth, and Jupiter, whose persistent synchronization with the solar dynamo is briefly touched upon. The typically emerging dynamo modes are dipolar fields, oscillating with a 22.14-years period or pulsating with a 11.07-years period, but also quadrupolar fields with corresponding periodicities. In the absence of any constant part of 𝛼, we prove the sub-critical nature of this Tayler–Spruit type dynamo. The resulting amplitude of the 𝛼 oscillation that is required for dynamo action turns out to lie in the order of 1 ms−1, which seems not implausible for the Sun. When starting with a more classical, non-periodic part of 𝛼, even less of the oscillatory 𝛼 part is needed to synchronize the entire dynamo. Typically, the dipole solutions show butterfly diagrams, although their shapes are not convincing yet. Phase coherent transitions between dipoles and quadrupoles, which are reminiscent of the observed behavior during the Maunder minimum, can easily be triggered by long-term variations of dynamo parameters, but may also occur spontaneously even for fixed parameters. The soft bodies pristinely preserved in ancient layers of mudstone provide new insight into the Cambrian Explosion, the little-understood evolutionary event at the dawn of complex animal life on Earth and the ecosystems and environments that hosted it. The discovery was published in the March 22 issue of Science. According to Gaines, the differences not only result from the biological evolution of species, but also from the local environments in which they live. The differences of the Chengjiang, as well as the high number of new species from the Qingjiang, suggest that the two sites represent different paleoenvironmental settings, with the Qingjiang fossils likely representing a slightly deeper marine habitat. "[The Qingjiang] site is invaluable to Cambrian paleobiology because it will help untangle the signal of evolution across the Cambrian period from the ecological signal that governs the composition of any local ecosystem," said Gaines. 08********08 #] 20Mar2019 SuspObs Connie X. We report here a strong, specific human brain response to ecologically-relevant rotations of Earth-strength magnetic fields. Following geomagnetic stimulation, a drop in amplitude of EEG alpha oscillations (8-13 Hz) occurred in a repeatable manner. Termed alpha event-related desynchronization (alpha-ERD), such a response has been associated previously with sensory and cognitive processing of external stimuli including vision, auditory and somatosensory cues. Alpha-ERD in response to the geomagnetic field was triggered only by horizontal rotations when the static vertical magnetic field was directed downwards, as it is in the Northern Hemisphere; no brain responses were elicited by the same horizontal rotations when the static vertical component was directed upwards. This implicates a biological response tuned to the ecology of the local human population, rather than a generic physical effect. Significance Statement Although many migrating and homing animals are sensitive to Earth’s magnetic field, most humans are not consciously aware of the geomagnetic stimuli that we encounter in everyday life. Either we have lost a shared, ancestral magnetosensory system, or the system lacks a conscious component with detectable neural activity but no apparent perceptual awareness by us. We found two classes of ecologically-relevant rotations of Earth-strength magnetic fields that produce strong, specific and repeatable effects on human brainwave activity in the EEG alpha band (8-13 Hz); EEG discriminates in response to different geomagnetic field stimuli. Biophysical tests rule out all except the presence of a ferromagnetic transduction element, such as biologically-precipitated crystals of magnetite (Fe3O4). >> geomagnetic effect on brain alpha waves - >> Davidson - how does this play out when the field reverses? 08********08 #] 12Mar2019 SuspObs Historical major solar storms 660 BC 770 AD Charlemagne 900s AD 1859 AD Carrington https://www.history.com/topics/middle-ages/charlemagne Charlemagne (c.742-814), also known as Karl and Charles the Great, was a medieval emperor who ruled much of Western Europe from 768 to 814. In 771, Charlemagne became king of the Franks, a Germanic tribe in present-day Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and western Germany. He embarked on a mission to unite all Germanic peoples into one kingdom, and convert his subjects to Christianity. A skilled military strategist, he spent much of his reign engaged in warfare in order to accomplish his goals. In 800, Pope Leo III (750-816) crowned Charlemagne emperor of the Romans. In this role, he encouraged the Carolingian Renaissance, a cultural and intellectual revival in Europe. When he died in 814, Charlemagne’s empire encompassed much of Western Europe, and he had also ensured the survival of Christianity in the West. Today, Charlemagne is referred to by some as the father of Europe. 08********08 #] 05Mar2019 SuspObs JAQUES LASKAR!!! https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2019-03/eiac-std030119.php 4-Mar-2019 Scientists track deep history of planets' motions, and effects on Earth's climate Newly forming map of chaos in the solar system Earth Institute at Columbia University The paper is coauthored by Jacques Laskar, Observatoire de Paris; Dennis Kent and Sean Kinney, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory; David Reynolds, ExxonMobil Exploration; Jingeng Sha, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Paleontology; and Jessica Whiteside, University of Southampton. ... This week, in a new paper in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a team of researchers has pushed the record way back, identifying key aspects of the planets' motions from a period around 200 million years ago. The team is led by geologist and paleontologist Paul Olsen of Columbia University's Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Last year, by comparing periodic changes in ancient sediments drilled from Arizona and New Jersey, Olsen and colleagues identified a 405,000-year cycle in Earth's orbit that apparently has not changed at all over at least the last 200 million years -- a kind of metronome against which all other cycles can be measured. Using those same sediments in the new paper, they now have identified a cycle that started out lasting 1.75 million years, but is now operating every 2.4 million years. This, they say, allows them to extrapolate long-term changes in the paths of Jupiter and the inner planets (Mercury, Venus and Mars), the bodies most likely to affect our own orbit. ... With two major coring experiments to date, we've we learned that changes in tropical climates from wet to dry during the time of early dinosaurs, from about 252 to 199 million years ago, were paced by orbital cycles lasting about 20,000, 100,000 and 400,000 years. On top of that is a much longer cycle of about 1.75 million years. The shorter cycles are about the same today, but the 1.75 million year cycle is way off --it's 2.4 million years today. We think the difference is caused by a gravitational dance between Earth and Mars. This difference is the fingerprint of solar system chaos. No existing set of models or calculations precisely duplicates these data. 08********08 #] 07Feb2019 Ancient underground refuges? This work has brought to light evidence of a human history that is quite different to currently held mainstream views pointing to the existence of an advanced ancient civilization with a great understanding of science. The building material of this pyramid is also an anomaly. Many independent test show that this is a very unique form of cement that has not come from modern times. In fact, this ancient cement is much stronger then any modern day cement. We still do not know how they achieved this mixture. # enddoc
